'MIDWINTER-IN-THE-MALLEE' DINNER'
25 people sat down to a dinner party with a difference last Friday night in the Gallery at Yongergnow.
Presented by the Gnowangerup Great Southern Slow Food Convivium, the night was a fine dining experience accompanied by the wines of Fonty's Pool of Manjimup.
Convivium leader, Bronwyn Gaze and her band of merry helpers, Beth Gaze, Rebecca O'Meehan and Fiona Gaze prepared a sensational 5 course meal including Albany oysters, local yabbies, Butterfield Beef and regional scallops and pork belly. The meal was a credit to the girls!
Local Ongerup lads Wes Harding and Mat Campbell manned the bar, and stole the night with their wonderfully attentive service, delightful manner, and waiting skills as they assisted the 'slow foodies' to bring the food to the dining table! Thank you to Mat and Wes for volunteering their time.
Good conversation, good food and good wine abounded as the dinner guests enjoyed the ambience of dining amongst the art and within the 'slow food' ethos which is to enjoy regional food traditions, the pleasures of the table and a slower, more harmonious rhythm of life!
