YONGERGNOW NEWSLETTER No3
MAY 2007
This month Yongergnow hosted a 2 day Teachers Aid Seminar that made good use of all our conference facilities. Judy O'neill started to define our walktrails in the mallee and the Yongergnow Cafe was taken over privatey by Donna Hart, this coincided fortuitously with the repair of our malfunctioning Espresso machine. Cappuccinos are once again on the menu. I hear a joyful cheer from all our local coffee lovers.
Teachers and teachers aids came from as far a field as Broomhill and Ravensthorpe to attend the two day seminar and many stayed overnight in local establishments. They hired our kitchen facilities and self catered for morning and afternoon tea and on the Monday night our volunteers cooked up a delicious roast dinner followed by homemade apple pie. Our guests were enthusiastic in their praise.
Judy O Neill has put a lot of work into organizing our bush walking trails. The paths have been designated with white painted rocks so our visitors won't lose their way and George O'Rielly has carved some wonderful wooden signs to point them in the right direction. These trails will be self-guided and anyone who is interested in expanding their knowledge of the local flora and fauna will be pleasantly surprised at the diversity. Judy has placed numbered pegs beside various plants and other points of interest along the trail so that bushwalkers can put a name to what they see.
Donna Hart has taken over the cafe with a flourish and filled the cake display fridge with homemade cakes and pies. Donna bakes her own bread and likes to keep her menu fresh and wholesome. She is happy to cater for functions large or small as long as you phone through and give her some prior notice re numbers. A set menu is also an option. Not only is Donna's food delicious she can make a coffee to rival any city barista.
We look forward to your visit.
