The Southern Art & Craft Trail is a prestigious and innovative event which brings together over 60 venues and artists to exhibit the best art and craft created in the Great Southern region of Western Australia .  And, Yongergnow will be a part of it!

Showcasing the work of the Ongerup Art Group, the trail offers a wonderful opportunity to exhibit works based around the theme of the Mallee landscape.  Landscape continues to be a dominant theme for the group with much of the work realistic. It is unmistakably rural, unmistakeably rich with colour, life and nature, and created by people who are unmistakeably observant and passionate.

As Rosemary Powell of the Ongerup Art Group states "Ongerup may be a 'blink and you miss it' size town; small and largely unknown, but it IS big on a few things:- it's big on human spirit and selfless community-minded people, and it's big on art!"

The botanical watercolours by Phillipa Nikulinsky will also be exhibited during the Art Trail .  The works are kindly on loan from the Timms family.

Wildflower Season in Ongerup - September 2008

The Ongerup Wildflower Display is one that should definitely not be missed!  Run by the Ongerup and Needilup Districts Museum , the display runs from 15 September until 5 October 2008 and is open every day from 9am until 4pm at the museum in Ongerup.

For anyone with an interest in orchids, the Ongerup Wildflower Display is a must!
